Strategic Intervention Coaching

Anthony Robbins and Cloé Madanes have joined forces in their effort to find solutions to interpersonal conflicts, to prevent violence and to contribute to the creation of a more cohesive and civil community. Their vision is to develop the field of Strategic Intervention integrating elements from a variety of social science, business and political perspectives, in order to form a unified field of strategic practice. A Strategic Intervention Coach navigates a variety of scenarios ranging from individual problems to those of the family, the peer group, the organization and the larger social system.

The basic tenet is that individuals, relationships, organizations and community can be directed toward positive change through the strategic planning of skilful interventions. The field of Strategic Intervention will encompass: Human Needs Psychology, strategic therapy, social action therapy, direct and indirect negotiation, the third side, Ericksonian therapy, structural family therapy, life-cycle theory of business organization, mediation and conflict resolution techniques, organizational psychology and community organization.

The tradition of Strategic Intervention (also called Human Needs Psychology or HNP) originates with the understanding of the power of meaning to shape all aspects of a human being’s life. Both Tony Robbins and Chloe Madanes have been powerfully influenced by the great insights and works of Victor Frankl and Milton Erickson’s creative breakthroughs in human intervention.

Where NLP came to focus on the neurolinguistic structures within the individual, the Strategic Approach focuses on the interactivity in relationships and the context of the person in their social group and in their life. We believe in the importance of understanding a person’s relationships, Stage in Life, Cultural influences, and Beliefs before they can be transformed by means of a skilfully planned strategy.

In Srategic Intervention we may give a client a strategy to carry out at home that will solve problems by transforming multiple relationships and therefore creating new opportunities. For this reason, a Strategic Intervention coach can walk into any situation with any number of participants and create interactive change that shifts the patterns of numerous individuals at once.

The goal of Strategic Intervention is to integrate the core insights of these traditions into a method of practical strategic action. SI encompasses strategies that span from the belief systems and emotional patterns within an individual, to individual relationships, to group dynamics, to organizational and cultural interventions. A Strategic Intervention Coach navigates a variety of scenarios ranging from individual problems to those of the couple, the family, the peer group, the organization, and the larger social system.
What distinguishes SI from other strategic studies is the belief that certain holistic solutions “snap into place” when people’s needs are met, expressed, and elevated. These solutions actually deliver highest levels of benefit for the least amount of effort!
